When people hear about Two Marines Moving, they often hear that we are veteran-founded and veteran-operated.
That's true.
What many people don't realize is that our company has also included a significant number of law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMTs, and other public servants over the years.
In many ways, that shouldn't be surprising.
The same qualities that make someone successful in public service often make them successful in the moving industry.
We Don't Just Support Law Enforcement
A lot of companies say they support law enforcement.
That's easy to say.
Our relationship with law enforcement is different.
We don't just support law enforcement.
We have employed law enforcement.
Over the years, Two Marines Moving has employed deputies, police officers, and other law-enforcement professionals in a variety of capacities.
Some worked part-time while serving full-time in law enforcement.
Some worked with us while waiting for police academy classes to begin.
Some worked with us before entering the profession.
Some worked with us after serving in the profession.
This has never been a marketing strategy.
It's simply the reality of who has chosen to work here.
We Have Also Employed Firefighters and EMTs
The same is true for firefighters and EMS professionals.
Over the years, we've been fortunate to employ people who have served in:
- Law enforcement
- Fire service
- Emergency Medical Services
- Military service
- Public safety professions
Some were active in those professions at the time.
Some had served previously.
Some were working toward those careers.
All were part of the team.
And it has been both an honor and a privilege.
Even a Few Federal Agents
Over the years, we've even had a few federal agents work as part of the team.
Again, that wasn't something we set out to recruit specifically.
It simply reflects the kind of people who often find their way into physically demanding, team-oriented environments.
When people with backgrounds in public service choose to spend time working alongside your team, you notice certain patterns.
They tend to show up.
They tend to be accountable.
They tend to understand responsibility.
They tend to understand that some jobs are difficult and still have to be completed.
Those characteristics matter in moving.
A Common Military Transition
One thing I've observed over the years is that many veterans eventually find themselves drawn toward:
- Law enforcement
- Firefighting
- EMS
- Emergency management
- Public safety careers
It's a very common transition.
The professions are different, but many of the underlying values remain the same.
Service.
Duty.
Teamwork.
Responsibility.
Showing up when you're needed.
The moving industry often appeals to many of the same people because it rewards similar characteristics.
Getting Paid To Stay In Shape
For future law-enforcement officers, firefighters, and EMTs, moving can also be a practical bridge between career stages.
It's hard work.
It's physical work.
It requires teamwork.
It requires professionalism around the public.
It rewards reliability.
Many future police officers and firefighters appreciate the opportunity to earn a paycheck while staying active and maintaining the kind of physical conditioning their future careers will demand.
It Runs In the Family
Public service has roots in my own family history as well.
One of my great-grandfathers served as a sheriff in Iowa during the 1800s.
I have always found that interesting.
Maybe there is something in the blood.
Or maybe every generation simply finds its own version of service.
For me, that path included the Marine Corps and entrepreneurship.
For others, it may be law enforcement, firefighting, or EMS.
Different uniforms.
Many of the same values.
Why They Fit Our Culture
The reality is that the culture at Two Marines Moving tends to attract people who appreciate:
- Accountability
- Professionalism
- Teamwork
- Reliability
- Physical fitness
- Responsibility
- Service to others
Those qualities aren't exclusive to any one profession.
But they are frequently found among military veterans, police officers, deputies, firefighters, EMTs, and other public servants.
That's one reason so many of those individuals have fit so naturally within our company over the years.
Final Thoughts
Two Marines Moving is made up of people from many backgrounds.
Veterans.
Deputies.
Police officers.
Firefighters.
EMTs.
Federal agents.
Students.
Tradesmen.
Hardworking civilians.
What brings them together isn't a particular job title.
It's a shared appreciation for responsibility, accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and service.
We've been fortunate to have many public servants wear the Two Marines Moving uniform over the years.
And it has truly been an honor and a privilege.
