From the Founder
Nicholas Edmond Baucom — Founder & Chief Executive Officer, Two Marines Moving
Since November 10, 2008 — the Marine Corps Birthday — Two Marines Moving has employed more than 1,000 veterans and service members.
And counting. That number includes:
- Marines, Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Guardians, Coast Guardsmen
- Reservists and National Guard members
- Active-duty service members
- Law enforcement officers
- ROTC cadets
- Delayed Entry Program (DEP) members
This is not a marketing campaign. It is not a recruiting gimmick. It is simply who we are.
Built by a Service Member, for Service Members
Two Marines Moving was founded by Nicholas Edmond Baucom — a Marine Corps infantryman, Rifleman (0311), Sergeant of Marines, and Infantry Squad Leader.
He served under a six-year Marine Corps Reserve contract, during which:
- He spent approximately three years on active duty.
- He was mobilized twice with his Marine Reserve unit.
- He supported Operation Iraqi Freedom.
- He experienced firsthand the balance between civilian employment and military service.
Before shipping to boot camp, he also spent approximately four months in the Delayed Entry Program.
Later, as a Lance Corporal and Marine Recruiter's Aide, he:
- Led poolees in physical training
- Conducted group PT sessions
- Taught basic military knowledge and formation procedures
- Taught attention to detail
- Assisted future Marines in preparing for recruit training
This company was built by someone who has personally experienced multiple phases of military life.
A Place for Every Phase of Service
One of the unique things about Two Marines Moving is that we employ people across the entire military lifecycle. From future service members waiting to ship to seasoned veterans decades removed from active duty, there is a place for people who value service, discipline, and accountability.
Active-Duty Service Members
Yes, active-duty service members work here. Right now.
Many active-duty teammates work:
- Saturdays and Sundays
- Long weekends — 72-hour and 96-hour liberty periods
- Leave periods
- Other available off-duty time
Most choose when they work. Many work one to four days per week depending on their schedules.
At Two Marines Moving, active-duty teammates receive:
- Weekly pay
- Industry-leading compensation
- Flexible scheduling
- A professional environment that understands military life
We respect duty schedules. We respect chain of command. We respect military obligations. Military service comes first. Always.
Reserve and National Guard Members
We actively employ members of:
- Marine Corps Reserve, Army Reserve, Air Force Reserve, Navy Reserve, Coast Guard Reserve
- Army National Guard and Air National Guard
Drill weekends. Annual Training. Professional military schools. Mobilizations. Deployments.
We understand these commitments because many of us have lived them ourselves. You pick your days. We build around your service.
Veterans in Transition
We have employed veterans who were:
- Fresh out of uniform
- Using the GI Bill
- Between careers
- Exploring their next chapter
This is not a sympathy hire. This is real work. Real standards. Real accountability. Real opportunity.
Veterans often thrive here because discipline, reliability, and professionalism translate exceptionally well into our industry.
ROTC Cadets
ROTC cadets often fit extremely well within our culture. Many are already developing leadership skills, accountability, and discipline.
Over the years, numerous cadets have worked:
- One to three days per week during the semester
- Full-time during summer and winter breaks
- Additional shifts when schedules allowed
The practical leadership experience gained from leading clients, teams, and missions in the real world can be valuable preparation for future military leadership responsibilities.
DEP Members and Future Service Members
We also employ future service members waiting to ship — Marine Corps poolees, Army DEP Soldiers, Navy DEP Sailors, Air Force DEP Airmen, Coast Guard DEP members, Space Force DEP Guardians.
While waiting to leave for training, many DEP members appreciate the opportunity to:
- Earn weekly pay and receive daily gratuity
- Stay physically active
- Work in a structured environment
- Learn from people who have already experienced military service
This is not boot camp. Nobody here is pretending otherwise. But it is an environment built around standards, accountability, teamwork, and responsibility. Those principles tend to serve future service members well.
Law Enforcement and First Responders
Two Marines Moving has also employed:
- Active and retired law enforcement officers
- Officers awaiting academy dates
- Firefighters, EMTs, and paramedics
We are unapologetically supportive of law enforcement, first responders, and those who choose careers of public service. Many of the values that make strong police officers and firefighters also make strong teammates.
We've Employed Every Rank — Almost
Over the years, we have employed service members ranging from:
- E-1 through E-9
- O-1 through O-6
Junior enlisted personnel. Noncommissioned Officers. Staff Noncommissioned Officers. Company-grade officers. Field-grade officers.
No generals yet. Although we have moved more than a few.
At Two Marines Moving, rank is respected. But performance matters more. Everyone carries their share of the load. Everyone is expected to meet the standard.
Paid to Work. Paid to Stay in Shape.
Many military members appreciate something simple about this work: it keeps you moving.
The job naturally includes:
- Strength, cardio, and mobility
- Endurance and functional movement under load
Most organizations expect physical fitness. At Two Marines Moving, you're getting paid while developing it. For many service members, that is a significant benefit.
Weekly Pay and Real Gratuity
At Two Marines Moving:
- Pay is weekly.
- Gratuity is real.
- Leadership opportunities create additional earning potential.
- Strong performance is rewarded.
Effort is visible. Results matter. Performance matters. Professionalism matters.
Not the Military. Not a Free-for-All.
Two Marines Moving is:
- A for-profit business
- A professional organization
- A standards-based culture
- A team environment
It is not the military. But many service members tell us it feels familiar. Not because we pretend to be the military. But because discipline, accountability, teamwork, and professionalism remain important here.
More Than 1,000 Veterans. One Standard.
Since 2008, Two Marines Moving has quietly built something unusual:
- A civilian company that understands military culture.
- A workplace where service members and veterans often feel at home.
- A team where trust is earned.
- A team where standards matter.
- A team where pride is built through performance.
Not words. Not slogans. Performance.
The Bottom Line
If you are:
- Active Duty, Reserve, or National Guard
- ROTC or Delayed Entry Program
- A veteran
- Law enforcement or a first responder
- Or simply someone who respects service, standards, and accountability
You'll probably recognize this environment quickly.
Mission First. Team Always.
Apply today and take your next step in a company that has been employing veterans and service members professionally and consistently for nearly two decades.
Semper Fidelis,
Nicholas Edmond Baucom
